Kandi started playing softball when she was 6 years old in the Newbury Park Girls Softball league. She continued to play in the 8u, 10u and 12u divisions. Kandi made the all-star team many of these years where her love for softball grew stronger and stronger. In her early years Kandi primarily played catcher, shortstop, 3rd base and even found herself on the mound pitching at times. As her playing abilities developed it was apparent that she showed the most talent behind the plate as well as a middle infielder.
Every other year Kandi enjoyed playing with her younger sister Kourtney. With both of the Kuder girls on the same team it made it really tough to beat them and they found themselves winning just about every year they played in rec-ball together. Kandi then joined the So Cal Panthers travel ball team and played in the 14u division. The team worked really hard and trained even harder and as they got into competition in the travel ball arena found themselves winning a few more championships. As the 14u season came to an end Kandi was asked to play with another local travel ball team called the Jus Ballplayers. They were going to Florida to play in the USSSA World Series Elite Tournament and needed an extra player.
Kandi caught and played 3rd base for them and hit unbelievably well. The team ended up winning the Championship and Kandi had her first experience with what it feels like to hit a home-run ball over the fence and trot around the bases at such a high level game.
After that experience it was time to get Kandi focused again on her travel ball team so she moved up to the So Cal Panthers 18u Gold team. As an 8th grader, Kandi was the youngest player on the team and was honored to play at such a competitive level. Kandi is currently playing on this team and she wants to end her travel ball career in a Panther uniform. Kandi also played many years of soccer, playing for AYSO rec league and continued on to play club soccer for several teams. Kandi started as a goal keeper in soccer and as her speed and agility kept getting better she then found herself as a forward in many of the games. With her strength and speed Kandi then got moved to playing most of her games as a middle fielder. Despite having a blast on the soccer field Kandi decided to give her full attention to the sport she loves most , Softball.
Kandi has also been riding dirt bikes with her family for many years; she loves the great outdoors and especially enjoys camping. Kandi really enjoys going to super cross and watching motorcycle dirt bike racing. Chad Reed who is also #22 is Kandi's favorite rider and she got to meet him, get autographs and take photos with him.
Kandi has been training Karate for several years, where she is currently a 1st degree brown belt. As Karate is on hold for now due to her softball and high school schedule she still says she wants to get her black belt and finish what she started. She loved competing in Karate tournaments and even took home 1st place in an event. Kandi also really enjoyed sparring with the other students. Her teacher said the best fights in sparring were always when Kandi and her younger sister got in the ring.
